Hate crime is a criminal offence committed against a person or property which is motivated, or perceived to be motivated, by hate, bias or prejudice based on:

  • Race
  • Language
  • Country of origin
  • Ethnicity
  • Skin colour
  • Religion
  • Sex or gender
  • Age
  • Disability (physical or mental)
  • Sexual orientation or gender identity
  • Any other similar factor(s)
